My Grandfather and Laser eye Surgery
When I came home from university for the Thanksgiving holidays, I was really shocked to hear that he had gone through a Lasik eye surgery for his vision. It came to my attention quickly, as he was wearing sunglasses on a rainy Maryland afternoon. Apparently one of the achievable temporary unwanted side effects with the Lasik process is a sensitivity to light. Soon after talking with him privately, he hadn’t actually had any of the negative effects that his Lasik eye doctor had described, but was having a wonderful time making the household believe that he did. What a character.
Granddad is 1 who often enjoys new gadgets, people’s sympathy, along with the opportunity to tell an additional story to any person prepared to listen. It virtually seems that the Laser eye process was personalized for him, specifically considering the fact that his Laser eye operation was essentially hassle free. As well as the sunglasses, the physician that performed his Lasik eye surgical procedure gave Granddad a pair of goggles to put on at night in order that he would not rub his eyes in his sleep. Granddad also wore them at breakfast and for many meals, stating that a possible squirt in the eye from a grapefruit or wine glass was not allowed inside the Lasik manual. I must mention that we do not generally drink wine, and that he was not offered a Laser eye manual.
Two of the more popular temporary negative effects immediately after Laser eye treatment are sensitivity to light or to glare, in particular at night, and some possibility of fluctuating vision for a number of days soon after the Lasik procedure. I have by no means noticed a man milk so much out of a mixture of one or both of these symptoms, although he by no means had either one.
He couldn’t clear dishes from the table mainly because his fluctuating vision may have him drop the plates, and he couldn’t drive to the convenience store at night mainly because… well, you get the drift. I do wonder why I was told the true story of his Lasik eye process, but I suppose a mystery partner tends to make the stories all the sweeter.
The truth is, the only genuine post Lasik eye symptom that he essentially had was dry eyes, and he had eye drops for that. As it been found, he required to get a second kind of eye drops from his Laser eye physician due to the fact he required a thicker script to live through the night comfortably. Granddad was shocked that he seemed to be a model Lasik patient at his age, even though his medical doctor mentioned he had completed quite a few really successful Laser eye surgeries for customers into their 70s, and also a number of in their 80s.
I am shocked that Granddad bothered to start looking into a Lasik eye operation, for I never noticed that he had an issue with his glasses. He says it was for the reason that Laser eye surgery would reveal the handsome man he is more clearly to the ladies, although he has been a widower for a dozen years and seemed fine with that.
