The meaning of the word dating actually varies according to person, country and culture. In the general sense of the term it can be considered as a meeting between two individuals judging each other as a potential partner for the future at some public place. This makes the situation a lot easier for both since both the persons have at least some idea about the person they are going to date.
With the great popularity and development of the social-networking sites on the internet the whole world has come a lot closer than before. There are numerous online dating sites as well that aim bringing people closer to one another. But like everything has its merits and demerits the idea of online dating has its negative points as well. The most commonly sorted out fact being that not all profiles and id s are genuine. Hence sharing personal information over the internet is not always a very good idea as anyone can cause any kind of harm to you.
