Inconsistency has plagued our team and kept us from having Home Ice Advantage. If we come out swinging like I know we can and not make too many mistakes, we can take Pitt. If not, then i guess we go home and Pens move on. Prediction – Flyers win it in 6Western Conference—————San Jose Sharksvs. Anaheim Ducks—————San Jose has a lot riding, not only on this
round, but the entire playoffs. Every hockey fan is wondering if there is a stigma in San Jose keeping them from the Cup they have been favored to win for the past few seasons. I don’t think they will miss out on the second round and will end up taking the Ducks. Prediction – Sharks take it in 5———————Detroit Red Wingsvs.Columbus Blue Jackets———————Columbus is my other team that I follow and I am completely excited to see them play in post-season hockey for the first time. I actually like this match-up with Detroit better than Vancouver because I think we have a better chance against them(believe it or not). It won’t be an easy challenge and probably won’t beat a seasoned team like the Wings but I do see giving them a run for their money.Prediction – Wings win in 6—————–Vancouver Canucksvs.St.Louis Blues—————–Vancouver has a tough match up against the Blues. They are riding high this whole second half of the season and have a good chance at upsetting the Canucks, who have Home Ice Advantage. This will be a tough played series and the travel will have an effect on both teams. I have to say I like St.Louis in this, especially if they win early in Vancouver and take that momentum back to St.Louis.Prediction – Blues win it after 6——————Chicago Blackhawksvs.Calgary Flames——————This one can either be a slugfest or a wipeout in my eyes. I do believe that Chicago has taken it to Calgary more through out the reg. season and I think that will spill over to the playoffs. Each game will be close and decided by a goal, most likely.
