David Redmond Associates

David Redmond Associates is an independent estate agents based in their offices of Birmingham. They differ from the popular caricature of estate agents (unscrupulous and money hungry) in that ethics are at the heart of their business. And that is why people are starting to take notice.

True, they may not be the most successful firm in terms of bottom line, but David Redmond Associates guarantee they will never push a buyer into purchasing a property that they aren’t completely happy with. This has led to a remarkable 95% customer satisfaction rate (you can’t please absolutely everyone), and why post-recession and post-credit crunch, in the midst of widespread dissatisfaction about the way business is done, they are being held up as positive examples to the rest of the industry.

Every estate agent is going to tell you that they’ll find your dream house/office/second home/holiday home, but when David Redmond Associates say it, they really mean it. And if they don’t find what you’re looking for, they won’t push you into buying something else.

David Redmond Associates was founded in 1992 by David Redmond. He studied business at Birmingham University and spent most of his working life climbing his way up the real estate ladder. But once he got near the top, he didn’t like what he saw. David Redmond had been brought up with a strong moral compass, and it was pointing in the wrong direction.

So, David Redmond Associates was started as  a counter to what he saw as worrying trends within the real estate industry, exactly the sorts of trends that resulted in the credit crunch: selling mortgages to people that can’t afford them, pushing beyond their budgets and manipulating clients into buying properties they didn’t want.

Nobody can say that David Redmond is perfect. In his time working up the ladder he was responsible for as many real estate crimes as anybody else, but he came to realise that he didn’t want to trade in that way, and founded David Redmond Associates as an extension of this realisation.

The result is a small estate agent based in his hometown of Birmingham that turns over enough to pay its staff, and David Redmond himself lives on a comparatively modest salary for his age and industry. But for now at least, he considers himself to be much better off than when he was near the top of what he saw as a rickety ladder. David Redmond’s namesake we have found is a barrister.
