Pantech C150 Review
The Pantech C150 is a phone that is designed for the masses. It does not have any of those fancy features that one would expect from a very high priced phone – but it also does not skimp out on any design features either. As a phone that is simply designed for people who want a stylish phone but value functionality over gizmos and gadgets, the Pantech C150 is technically perfect – as it does not try to be something more than it is.
From a design standpoint, the Pantech C150 is very pleasing to look at. It is of the candy bar shape and looks as though it is built very solidly, making it perfect for a device that you would carry around every day. Currently, it is available in either silver or black with an LCD screen that is relatively small at only 128 by 160 pixels and capable of displaying up to 262 thousand colors. So while the display is small in order to fit on a phone of this tiny size (only 4 by 1.6 by 0.5 inches in size and 70 grams in weight), the color depth is very good.
Unlike some other phones with an excellent form factor, the Pantech C150 actually continues its great engineering with impressive inner workings as well. To start, the Pantech C150 is quad band GSM so it can be used anywhere in the world just by switching the SIM card. Also, there is Bluetooth, a music player and a speakerphone built in – so it has plenty of functions. You can even check your email via the Pantech C150’s mailbox.
However, while it does provide some nice features, there are a couple of problems. For one, the built in camera is terrible and only provides VGA resolution of 0.3 megapixels. This would have been good a few years ago, but these days this is absolutely terrible. Also, there is no expandable memory slot for the media player, so you are stuck with the Pantech C150’s built in memory for storage of your music and videos. Also, the Pantech C150 does not offer any 3G or Wi-Fi functionality – but that is to be expected on such an entry level phone.
Pros
-Nice sleek design
-Average consumer market
-Media player
Cons
-No 3G or Wi-Fi
-Dated camera
-Small LCD screen
-No expandable memory
Overall
The Pantech C150 looks to be a promising low end phone for the average consumer. While there are no fancy features, Pantech more than makes up for it by offering a decent cellular device at a fabulous price.
