Pantech Ocean Review
The Pantech Ocean is Helio’s flagship CDMA phone. This phone is perfect for those that like to text or send out emails. The Pantech Ocean has an incredible dual slide design. This means that a numeric keypad will slide down for strictly phone use or a QWERTY keyboard will slide out from the side when you require a keypad to text, send out emails or complete other tasks.
The Pantech Ocean looks great and feels sturdy in your hands. The phone is quality made and was extremely easy to use. It reminded me a lot of the SideKick 3, but definitely stands on its own. The Pantech Ocean comes equipped with a music player, memory slot, 200 MB of memory onboard and a 2 mega pixel, high resolution digital camera. Another great feature is its large display screen which was extremely bright and perfect for all the tasks you can do on the phone including surfing the web.
The Pantech Ocean is not hefty, but is not small per se. It is a good size for all the features it packs, but if you are looking for a tiny phone to carry around, this is not it. The Pantech Ocean includes stereo Bluetooth, EVDO high speed data transfer and plenty of software onboard to handle a multitude of tasks. For those road warriors that don’t want to carry around their laptop, this phone can definitely help lessening the load.
For most users, a small learning curve will be required, but I didn’t think this phone was hard to use, it just took a few days to get acquainted with. Regarding battery life, with normal use, you should be okay. If you are constantly using the media devices on the phone expect to charge the phone at least once per day. The Pantech Ocean’s music player was more than adequate and there are exclusive music keys on the phone for optimal control. The player does support a host of formats including those with DRM.

-Battery life could be a tad better
-Speakerphone while loud, was not as clear when volume is high

Overall
The Pantech Ocean is a fantastic phone for text messaging and emailing. For those on the go, the web browser is more than adequate and packs lots of software on board. Filled with great features the Pantech Ocean definitely delivers.
