The Berkshire aluminum fence is available in four different grades: residential, residential wide, commercial and industrial. Click here to read what grade is best for your application: http://www.fence-depot.com/fence-guide/choosing-the-best-grade-of-aluminum-fence/. The residential grade is the most common and used in most residential applications. The residential wide grade gives a bigger, bolder look than the residential without the higher cost of the heavier systems. The commercial grade Berkshire fence gives you the option of 6’ and 8’ wide sections and is best used as estate fencing as well as in apartment complexes, schools, churches or cemeteries. The industrial grade of the Berkshire aluminum, like the commercial grade, is available in 6’ and 8’ wide sections. It uses heavy gauge aluminum extrusions for high visibility and a substantial appearance. Industrial is the best choice for high traffic public areas.
There are also different options for the tops of the pickets for the Berkshire aluminum fence. The pressed spear is the standard option and is the most common because of its lower price. The pressed spear can most simply be described as taking the top of the square picket and pinching it into a point. For a more elegant look, you can choose to add the Quad-Flair or Tri-Ad Finials for an additional cost. Another option would be to have the tops of the pickets flat cut. This means that the vertical pickets would still extend up past the top horizontal rail but they would not be pointed at the tips. You could keep this look or add a decorative picket top of your choice at a later time.
