Comfit Cuff and IntelliSense

All Omron Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors are fitted with the Comfit Cuff and IntelliSense technology, including the Omron BP785. Due to the Comfit Cuff being pre-formed, it can be easily fitted without any help. To help with correct positioning of the cuff, it has sewn in marker guides. Cuffs normally come in 2 arm sizes – Standard Adult is between 9 and 13 inches / Large Adult is between 13 and 17 inches. The Comfit Cuff will fit all arm sizes (between 9 and 17 inches)
By monitoring the Blood Pressure, the IntelliSense technology built into the Omron BP785 determines the best level to inflate the Cuff, giving accurate Readings and maximum comfort.

Display Unit

The Omron BP785 has a Black top panel with an easy to read LCD at the top and below are two rows of buttons (including User ID selection switch). The main numbers on the screen starting at the top is Systolic ( the highest pressure level when the Heart is beating) below that is the Diastolic (the lowest pressure level whilst the Heart is at rest) and the bottom figure is Pulse Rate.
Alert Symbols include:

Irregular Heartbeat – this will be displayed if 2 or more irregular Heartbeat Rhythms are detected within a measurement.
Movement Error – when excessive movement is detected within the period of a reading then the alert is displayed.
Morning Hypertension – When your Weekly Morning Average exceeds 135 for Systolic and/or 85 for Diastolic then the alert is triggered.
Cuff Wrap Guide – this is displayed if the Cuff is fitted incorrectly.

Measurement Accuracy

This Omron BP785 has many safeguards to give accurate readings – so you should be assured of any measurements you make.
These include :

Comfit Cuff – hard to fit incorrectly – due to the sewn-in markers
Cuff Wrap Guide – indicates when the cuff is not fitted correctly.
Movement Error Symbol – too much movement during a measurement will trigger this.
Dual Sensors – every reading is double-checked – if an error is detected then the Calibration Check alert indicator flashes.

An averaging system call TruRead is integrated into the Omron BP785. In this mode 3 readings are taken simultaneously and the average of these is displayed and recorded.
When the unit is set to TruRead mode and the Comfit Cuff is fitted, the 3 Blood Pressure measurements are carried out automatically (the cuff will deflate and re-inflate between each measurement). The period between each reading may be selected as 15 secs, 30 secs, 1 min or 2 min. International recognised guidelines specify that 60 secs is the preferred setting.

Measurement Storage

The Omron BP785 can save up to one hundred readings for both of the two Users. Also featured is a Guest mode that allows other peoples measurements to be viewed but not stored. Up to 8 Weeks AM averages and 8 Weeks of PM averages can also be stored for each User.

Anyone that suffers from Hypertension would find it beneficial to have their own Home Blood Pressure Monitor, such as the Omron BP875 to make daily readings that can be shared with their Physician. Any readings obtained on infrequent trips to your Doctors cannot be relied on. It is important that you plump for a good quality Blood Pressure Monitor like the Omron BP875 if you want consistent, accurate results.
