3 Really Quick Sandwich Recipes
Everyone knows a few decent sandwich recipes, so lets consider three of the best in class.
The Ploughman’s. My, oh my, what a classic. You can ask any Briton about a Ploughman’s and they’ll have an opinion. Some people like their cheese fat free, whereas others like the cheese to be thicker than the bread! Then there is the ham to consider, there might be people who won’t touch a ploughman’s unless the pork is organic and others who won’t touch one unless they slaughtered the pig in their own farm! But when it comes to lettuce everyone is more or less the same, just as long as it’s nice and fresh. And it’s the fact that everyone has their own variation on the recipe that makes it such a classic.
Peanut butter and jam. Another sure-fire classic. Whilst this might not be so healthy (sorry to ruin it for you), it’s pretty darn tasty. The way the savoury and sweet of the peanut butter and the jelly (respectively) compliment each other is one of Mother Nature’s great secrets. Who would have though that butter made from peanuts would go so well with something that is made with such sweet fruits? And what really makes this an instant classic that will stand the test of time is the fact that it takes such little to prepare. Great for the kids to make for themselves and although its a little messy at least its tasty!
And finally it’s the cold turkey sandwich. This one is a festive smash! For some reason you can make this sandwich as many time as you want but it never tastes as good as it does on Boxing Day. The wonderful thing about this sandwich is that there really is no fixed recipe! It’s more of a case of chucking in whatever you’ve get left over from Christmas dinner and trying to balance the top piece of bread on it. Meat, gravy, Yorkshire puddings, everything is welcome!
And there you have three of the best sandwich recipes around!
