When cheers are greeting the injecting of fresh blood, some elder educators, projecting themselves as defenders, are strongly opposed to the adopting. Different from supporters, they define this kind of novel as, at best, light literature. Actually, they firmly believe it contains nothing but fighting and romance. Those imaginary stories will only mislead teenagers’ mind and behavior. And when being taken to the political level, it’s in conflict with our modern civilization and legal system. We strive for liberty but not at the expense of the rule of law. Children are the flowers of our motherland and blah. In one word, stop!
Finally, to speak frankly, if I were given a choice between the pros and cons, I am standing on the side of supporters. The knife is the same knife. Cooks use it to cook lovely meals and sculptors use it to create beauty. Only devil use it taking away lives. So instead of blaming the adopting, maybe paying close attention to the problem of our education first is more advisable.
