Comparing Designer to Cheaper Glasses
While shopping for glasses, customers look for different brands and types due to different income levels. A lot of people like to be associated with big brand names so that they can be perceived to be of a higher social status or that they have a good taste and preference. The reason why a lot of people purchase cheap glasses (or as we say in Denmark billige briller) is because they are cheaper as compared to designer glasses but designer glasses have other merits that purchasers enjoy not found in cheap ones.
Nowadays there are a lot of unscrupulous dealers in the market offering counterfeit eye glasses, these glasses bear big brand names but they are of very low quality and price from the original ones. You may think that you have landed the best deal by purchasing your favorite brand at a very cheap price but you have been conned your money. These glasses don’t serve their purpose and don’t last for long as they are affected and damaged by forces of wear and tear. This is the main reason why cheap is expensive when you buy cheap glasses; you will have to regularly replace them.
Designer glasses differ from cheap ones in some aspects that I am going to discuss below:
- Quality. To maintain the value of their brand name and segment their customer base, designer glasses use high quality materials that are durable. These glasses not only serve their purpose but last for long. Cheap spectacles are cheap because they are made of cheap materials that are not durable. They are easily damaged by forces of wear and tear and may not effectively serve their purpose. Designer glasses are made of coatings that prevent moisture from building up when in moisture conditions. Cheap glasses are made of this coating so when in humid environments like a hot tub or shower fog builds up blurring your vision. This may lead to a fatal accident in the bathroom in case you slide due to the slippery floor as a result of it being wet.
- Style. Designer glasses are not only a status symbol but a fashion accessory. The main reason why customers buy them is to show off to their friends since they are very trendy. Cheap designs are looking to copy the styles of the established brand names so as to be identified by the customers. Wearing designer glasses will enable you to turn a lot of necks and be the talk of the town, you will even attract the deserved attention without even saying a word.
- Innovation. Designer glasses are expensive and because they are made of high quality materials, the designers are always looking for ways of improving their style and products so as to meet the ever growing customer demands. Cheap glasses pick low prices on the market, this does not encourage their producers to come up with new products or styles. The producers will only introduce new products and style long after designers have done so in an attempt to copy them so as to attract customers looking for cheaper deals.
