An Introduction to Karma
The Law of Karma can be compared to the law of motion, For every action there is always an opposite reaction. People who are not familiar with Hinduism or Buddhism may have thought that Karmic reactions happen in the same lifetime. As the basic principle of this law, Karma gets accumulated and counted throughout the lifetime of a person and he will reap the fruits of these deeds in his next lifetime. There are quotes about deeds that can explain this deeper
Importance of the deeds that you have done with fear of God cannot be minimized and how can the deeds which are acceptable to God be considered unimportant.
We live in deeds, not years: In thoughts not breaths; In feelings, not in figures on a dial. We should count time by heart throbs. He most lives Who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the best.
There are three types of Karma
Satvik Karma – This is brought by a Selfless act, an act that considers the good and for the benefit of many.
Rajasic Karma – This is a deed or an act taken or derived from selfish thinking. This type of Karma is often brought by selfish thougts to gain material things or an advantage over others.
Tamasik Karma – This type of Karma originates from actions that are not thought of, savage and the most selfish act of all.
Karama is believed to have rooted on the natural law of cause and effect as observed by our Hindu and Buddhist ancestors. Everyone is bounded by this law and applicable for everyone. Destiny and freewill are two of the factors here, we are given a freewill and our destiny is not predetermined by a god but our sole choice. Whatever the case maybe, we are only guided by this law. We should all act in our own conscience like what the saying goes, whatever that keeps us sleep well at night. Awareness is the key and some of the best quotes about awareness suggests how we should act as a person and a human being.
Let us contemplate on this quite and gauge ourselves how human we are and what good have we done for the people that are dear to us.
A lot of people in spiritual life use the awareness of difference, and the spiritual glorification of difference, as a justification to indulge in that which is ultimately unreal.
Awareness is experiencing from moment to moment. Reason acts quickly in awareness, a thousand times faster than thought, and you do not even notice it is operating.
As we become more aware of the situation of our fellows all around the globe today, Karma or not, we should do our parts for the betterment of the world and everything that inhabits it. Everyday we witness violence, death, corruption and fear. Let us not instill this to the next generation. What else would they have if we have taken everything away from them? We are all mortals and material things won’t save us from death.
