The Detroit Red Wings got a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night.
The Kings had their chances, including with 5:54 left when Dwight King put them ahead 3-2, but couldn’t beat a shorthanded team.
Anze Kopitar Jersey “When you keep shots down like that and you score three goals, you should win,” Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter said.
Los Angeles had twice as many shots as the Red Wings through two periods, but allowed Zetterberg to tie it with goals late in the first and second periods on two of their eight shots.
The Kings could not protect the lead in the 3rd with just 5 minutes to play. They let the Wings scored 2 unanswered goals in a span of 3 minutes. Mike Richards turned the puck over in the Kings blue line that lead to a tying. Instead of going forward, he went backward and the Wings stold the puck and Filpulla beat Quick up high over his shoulder because he was all alone in front of Quick. Darren Helm scored with just 1:13 to play.
Once again, the Kings turned the puck over in their zone. Doughty didn’t tie up the stick of Helm and Helm made the Kings pay. End results Kings 3 Wings 4. Game over. I don’t know what happened to Zetterburg. He got hurt and I didn’t see him play in the 3rd. So far the Kings earned only 2 points on this 4 games road trip. Mike Richards leaving me and Kings fans scratching their heads. He haven’t scored in 32 games. He scored 1 goal in 32 games. Jeff Carter have been scoring. Tomorrow they will be at Chicago. The Hawks are looking for a revenge. The last time the Kings were there, they shutout the Hawks 2-0. I can’t wait. It is Sunday yet?
