Executive MBA – A Value Addition To A Resume With Good Experience
E MBA is abbreviated form of Executive Masters of Business Administration course. EMBA is conducted in as many as 50 Business Schools in India. Main purpose of doing an EMBA is to achieve Masters Degree in weekend mode or distance mode or Part-time study mode while continuing current job. It is designed for those working executives who missed out and MBA degree and started working with some company or organization or as a self employed.
Full time MBA or traditional MBA course is designed in most generic manner where students are mainly having an academic background. Whereas course structure of Executive MBA is designed to reduce difference between the skills required to handle day to day affairs of particular business process and ability of an executive. In general they can be considered as a skill enhancement program. Teaching standards of both, traditional MBA and Executive MBA are having vast differences. Executive MBA focuses a lot on practical assignments whereas traditional MBA has initially more theoretical part in their syllabus.

Duration of course varies from institute to institute in between 12 months to 30 months.
EMBA – 1 year course
Most of institute in India are having 12 months Executive MBA program which is conducted in regular full time Study mode. This is designed for those candidates who can get study leaves from their current company. In most of the cases current employer of the candidate sponsors the course. Employer sponsors aspirants provided one commits availability of oneself for the job after completing the study for particular duration, say 3 years.
EMBA- 2 year
Most of 2 Year Executive MBA courses are of Weekend or Part-time study Mode. They are ideally suited to aspirants of higher level designation. In India, they are conducted mainly under the affiliation of Foreign Universities.
EMBA Distance in Distance Mode
Most of the Indian Universities which run distance courses have Executive MBA in their courses. They are very easy and offer no disturbance to aspirant’s present jobs. All most all have not maximum time limits. They can be completed even in 5 years. Candidates doing Distance EMBA have to attend some lectures of classes mostly in Weekends and have to appear in the written Exams at designated centers of universities.
Online EMBA course
Online Executive is the easiest way to get an MBA degree for the candidates having more than 2 years of experience. There are many universities which have online EMBA courses like Symbiosis International University, Sikkim Manipal University, etc. Study materials for EMBA courses are made available in the form of an online tutorial, virtual classrooms, etc. Exams of such courses are also conducted in online mode. Actually students don’t need to visit any designated centre for their normal studies except submission of projects and major assignments. Fees structure for such courses is also affordable to candidates of any economic background.
Eligibility Requirements of EMBA
Most of the Executive MBAs courses don’t need any entrance exam scores. Candidate should be a graduate and having a good work experience from any recognized organization and good command over English. Even those candidates with just K-12 or diploma in engineering completion but with good experience (3-5 years) can take up such courses in some universities. All a candidate needs to do is regular payment of the nominal fees and timely clearance of subjects.
