Samsung SGH-A227 Review

One of the first things you may notice about the Samsung SGH-A227 is not what features are present, but what is missing. In the case of the A227, there is not a camera included in the functions. Still, this is a relatively painless tradeoff for some of the other extras included with the unit.

The real selling point of the A227 is the Quad-band connectivity that allows worldwide roaming. For anyone who has found themselves unable to get a connection and desperately needs to make a call, this can be a big deal indeed. The speakerphone on the A227 is excellent, which will make using the device for conference calls or any type of voice communication a pleasure.

Along with the high quality speakerphone, the A227 also includes MMS and a WAP browser. You can customize the look of the display with a different wallpaper, add to your collection of ringtones easily and also enjoy a range of graphics.

While the talk time on the A227 is not the best on the market, it does have a decent four hour average. Standby time is excellent, coming in at around 380 hours. While the battery talk time does not help the A227 to be ideal for heavy users, the excellent standby time will provide for enough power between charges to suit quite a few consumers.

Most of the other essentials are found with the A227. The text messaging process is easy to handle, navigating through the menus does not take long to master, and the resolution display is easy on the eyes. All in all, the Samsung SGH A227 is not a bad phone for the price.

Pros

-Quad-band connectivity means you can get a signal just about anywhere
-Good quality speakerphone
-Talk and standby time are better than many phones in the same price range

Cons

-No camera may turn off some consumers
-Not a lot of extras found here

Overall

The Samsung SGH A227 is a perfectly workable phone. It does not take a lot to master the features that are present, and the reliability of being able to capture a signal can bring a lot of peace of mind. As long as the camera issue is not a big deal, the phone is worth considering.
