Canary Islands Vacation

Located 100 kilometers off the northwest coast of Africa, the Canary Islands, also known as the Canaries is an autonomous Spanish island group laying on the border between Morocco and Western Sahara. Though geographically a part of the African continent, the Canary Islands are legally recognized to be of Spanish nationalities, making Spanish the official language of this autonomous community. With over than 12 million visitors per year, especially to the island of Tenerife, a Canary Islands Vacation offers a popular tourist destination, especially for European travelers.

The local wine is also unique, and is often accompanied with the local cuisine of cheese, pork or goat meat.

La Palma, with a population smaller than a hundred thousand, also has various ports, ferries, and even an international airport. Its spectacular volcanic landscapes and dense vegetation make La Palma a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts thrilled to walk through its forests with a Canary Islands map, while the more relaxed travelers will find lots of preserved buildings in the capital of Santa Cruz.

Last but not least, the island of El Hierro, known as the Meridian Island, is also considered to be the edge of the world, found on the west most edge of a Canary Islands map.
