Overall
The Samsung SGH-A137 has plenty of pros but it is also lacks in a number of areas. If you are looking for a basic phone, then this Samsung phone will do you just fine. However, if you are inclined towards multi functioning with your phone and enjoy listening to music on it, taking pictures or videos or e-mailing, you must look elsewhere.
NEBS (Network Equipment-Building System) is a standard for telephony equipment. NEBS was developed in the 1970’s by Bell Labs (now Telcordia). Many equipment vendors build their equipment to NEBS standards, even when they do not intend for their equipment to be placed in a Central Office. Equipment vendors do this because compliance with the NEBS standards shows buyers that the equipment is well built.
