Ford Fiesta – Shining since launch
After Ford Figo hatchback, Ford Fiesta has proved to be a gamble product for the auto-grand, Ford. Last year in July, the all new Fiesta was launched to cater the utmost comforts of a compact sedan in a nominal price tag range. And as expected by the company, Fiesta has been able show its dominance in the domestic auto-market. Recently, the company introduced the automatic transmission variant of this compact sedan at the affordable Price of Rs. 8.23 lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai). The latest buzz says that Ford is planning to bring in face-lifted Fiesta by October, this year. Speculations are that the face-lifted Fiesta would be powered by the new 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine that will also be used in upcoming Ford cars i.e. the EcoSport and the B-Max.
Ford Fiesta has been well constructed with fluidic cum sporty look. The exteriors of Fiesta are enchanted by its Foxy eyes headlamps, Radiator grille surround, Body colored bumper, Body colored door handles & ORVMs, Rear Applique and Chrome ringed front fog lamps. The entire outfit is symmetric and the front looks somewhat similar to the entry level hatchback, Figo. The rear profile is however, not much attractive due to the boxy boot.
The inside glance of Ford Fiesta is quite sober as its sibling Fiesta Classic and has got enough capacity for 5 passengers. Both front and the rear cabin of this car avail ample of leg-room and head-room to the passengers that makes this car a real comfort package. The centre console is another adorable factor of the interiors and has got bright metallic finish on it. The top end models are blessed with leather wrapped steering wheel. Moreover, the dual tone dash board of all new Fiesta has got the best in class quality and design.
Fiesta is available in 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5 liter TiVCT petrol engine of this car has efficiency to churn peak power of 109 PS @ 6045 rpm and maximum torque of 140 Nm @ 4500 rpm. The petrol variant has caliber to cross the speed slot of 0 – 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and has top speed of 164 km/h. As far as the mileage is concerned Fiesta petrol can deliver fuel efficiency of 13.0 – 16.97 km/l. On the other hand, the 1.5 liter TDCi diesel engine variant of Fiesta churns maximum power of 90PS @ 3750 rpm with peak torque of 204 Nm and is said to have fuel efficiency of 18.5 – 23.5 kmpl. In addition, it takes 14.2 seconds to cross speed range of 0 – 100 kmph and has got top speed of 155 kmph.
