There was once a question and answer program in school participated by four twelve graders.  They were Peter the Good, Bruno the athlete, Sharon the Prom Queen and Edward the School Geek.  The exercise was done so the school principal and teachers are able to gain insight as to the values formation aspect of the school’s curriculum.  Here was how it went:

 

Question:  State your name and describe yourself briefly.

Peter the good:  My name is Peter and I am a servant of god

Bruno the athlete:  Everyone know who I am because I am the star athlete

Sharon the queen:  I need no introduction

Edward the geek:  I am Edward and I do not know how to describe myself

 

Question:  What do you think is life all about?

Peter the good:  Life is a pilgrimage

Bruno the athlete:  Life is sports

Sharon the queen:  Life is beauty

Edward the geek:  Creating things

 

Question:  Do you believe in heaven?

Peter the good:  Yes

Bruno the athlete:  Yes

Sharon the queen:  Yes

Edward the geek:  I do not know

 

Question:  Where do you think is heaven?

Peter the good:  In every ones heart

Bruno the athlete:  Heaven is in the end zone

Sharon the queen:  Between my legs

Edward the geek:  The virtual world… maybe

 

Question:  Who do you think is in heaven?

Peter the good:  God, the saints, and the angels

Bruno the athlete:  The fans

Sharon the queen:  Any one lucky enough

Edward the geek:  Dumbledore, he died already

 

Question:  Do you believe in the saints?

Peter the good:  Oh yes, and I hope to be one someday

Bruno the athlete:  Not really, the Jets are better

Sharon the queen:  They are the ones who practice celibacy, right?

Edward the geek:  Harry Potter is a saint

 

Question:  Who is God?

Peter the good:  My creator and the source of all goodness

Bruno the athlete:  I do not know him personally

Sharon the queen:  I am a goddess and currently unattached

Edward the geek:  Me of course.  I create things

 

Question:  What is an angel?

Peter the good:  A servant; messenger of God

Bruno the athlete:  My girlfriend

Sharon the queen:  Me

Edward the geek:  Someone I hope to be

 

Question:  What does an angel do?

Peter the good:  Guides and protect mankind

Bruno the athlete:  Kisses me when we win

Sharon the queen:  A lot of things depending on the motivation

Edward the geek:  Creating websites

 

At that point the panelist could not resist but question Edward furthermore:

Question:  How can an angel create websites?

Edward:  convert to XHTML

 

Question:  What are you talking about?
