Maruti Ertiga MPV slated to launch on 12th April
India’s leading automobile manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki India are all set to launch their brand new Multi Purpose Vehicle – Maruti Ertiga. The official launch date of this MPV is set on the 12th of April and is expected that it will carry the same reputation of all the other vehicles from the esteemed fleet of Maruti India. The Maruti Ertiga price has not yet been announced. There are a lot of speculations about the price of this MPV, but going by the track record of the company, it is expected to be an aggressive and economical price to suit the domestic car market. Maruti Ertiga is a people carrier and can accommodate seven passengers on the 3-rows of flexible seating arrangement in it. This MPV has appealing looks and was first showcased in the Automobile Expo held at New Delhi in January this year. Since then, this MPV has come under the bracket of the most awaited upcoming cars in the country as numerous people keenly following the launch time frame.
Maruti Ertiga is being offered in both petrol and diesel versions across the country. The petrol model will be fitted with a front wheel drive, 1.4 liter engine capable of displacing 1373cc. This engine has 4 cylinders and can churn out a maximum power of 93.8 Bhp at 6000 Rpm along with a peak torque of 13.25 Kgm at 4000 Rpm. It is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission gear box. The diesel version is integrated with a 1.3 liter turbo diesel engine able to displace 1248cc. The peak power, which this engine can produce, is 88.5 Bhp at 4000 Rpm along with a thumping torque of 20.39 Kgm at 1750 Rpm. It houses 4 cylinders and has a similar 5-speed gearbox with a manual transmission.
The dimensions of both the versions of Maruti Ertiga are – length – 4265 mm, width – 1695 mm, height – 1685 mm. The wheel base of this MPV is 2740 mm and the wheels are of 15 inches with the tyres of 185/65 R 15 fitted on them. The ground clearance is about 185 mm and the total weight of Maruti Ertiga is 1160 Kg/1235 Kg. The suspension of this MPV is quite sturdy and robust with the front suspension fitted with MacPherson Struts and the rear has a non-independent, torsion beam. The steering type is a Rack and Pinion power steering, which is electrically assisted for enhanced driving experience. The front brakes are ventilated discs, while the rear brakes have drums.
The company has a lot of expectations and hopes pinned on this MPV – Maruti Ertiga to generate excellent sales as most of their other vehicles have been doing since many years. One thing is for sure that the competition in this segment is really going to heat up with the launch of this latest addition in the domestic car market.
