“Our sourcing has consistently increased over the last three years,’’ begins Alexander. “Takko sourced 3 million pieces in its first year. This figure went up to 10 million pieces the following year and reached 13 million during the third year. Last year, we sourced about 15 million pieces,’’ he points out.
The company procures garments and accessories for its stores from India, Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, Thailand, Turkey and Cambodia. Takko procures about 100 million pieces annually, which includes fashion accessories. Takko’s product basket includes ladies garments, men’s wear and children’s wear. But the focus remains on women’s wear with more and more women becoming fashion-conscious. The company offers romantic strap tops to casual outdoor jackets from infants’ jeans to maxi tweed skirts for XXL ladies.
“In Germany today, including the older women are looking for inexpensive but top quality fashion garments plus our endeavour would be to offer them something new every season,’’ shows Alexander. Takko Fashion is a fashion discounter with the average European spouse and children. It caters to the full segment from small kids to women above 30 and may become even over 40. “Our average customer wants fashionable yet inexpensive garments. Therefore, each of our efforts are directed to procuring the right solution at the right price tag,’’ he adds. Takko’s peer as far as its trend goes include H&M as well as C&A.
