Is the Water You Are Drinking as Safe as You Have Been Led to Believe?

Every day you go to your kitchen sink and fill a glass with water to drink, use the water coming out of it for cooking and more. You step into your shower and feel the hot spray relaxing all of your muscles and never think twice about the quality of the water you are using. In this country we have long since stopped worrying about the quality of the water coming out of our faucets as we assume that the city uses a perfectly good water filter before it sends the water down the lines.

While this is a perfectly natural thought, and once upon a time it might even have been true, the reality is that this may no longer be the case. If someone were to tell you that the water coming out of your faucets is not much better than the water being used in many third world countries, you would probably call them a liar to their face. Even though the water that you see gushing out of your faucets is relatively clear, at least to the naked eye, the reality is that in many areas of the country it is no better than the water in these third world countries.

The biggest difference is that we assume that just because our cities use a water filter, our water is perfectly safe to drink, to cook with and to bathe in. If you want to know what is in your water, you need to send  a water sample to an independent testing facility and ask them to test it for you and provide you with a detailed analysis of everything that they find in your water. Once you get your report back, chances are good that you are not going to like what you see.

Without the proper type of water filter, you are likely to find that your water contains high levels of the chlorine used to kill bacteria in it, fluoride that is added as it is supposed to be good for your teeth, an assortment of heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides and many other toxic chemicals and bacteria. This is probably the case in the vast majority of water systems in the US today as water filters most cities use do not have the ability to remove all of these and in most cases they do not even try.

Does this sound like the kind of water you want to drink or bathe in? If it does then you will feel right at home in any third world country. If not, you need to give serious thought to doing something about it. Just as you would not go camping in the woods and use the water out of the river without a camping water filter, you should not use your tap water without a reverse osmosis water filter system under the kitchen sink.

When you install this type of water filter under your kitchen sink, you will find that the water coming out of the separate spigot is as pure if not more as the water that you buy in those expensive little bottles you have been paying at least $1 for, if not more in the stores. A reverse osmosis filter will remove up to 95% to 99% of all impurities in the water rendering it safe for you and your family to drink.  If this is still not as pure as you would like or you are going camping, you might want to consider purchasing a Berkey water purifier as these filters will remove 99.9999999% of pathogenic bacteria, making your water the purest in the world.

As you can see, the water we have been considering safe for our use is not even close to being as safe as we have been led to believe. Even when it is run through a water filter at the city water source, you still have numerous contaminants to deal with. By installing your own water filters for both drinking water and the water you bath in, you can reduce or eliminate many of the health risks often associated with poor quality water and significantly improve the health of your family.
