Maruti Ertiga and 4 other cars waiting for launch this month

The Union Budget 2012-13 has brought sour moments for both the automotive enthusiasts and the auto-manufacturers. The announcement of Union Budget 2012 has led to 2 percent increase in the excise duty for the entire automobile industry. However, there are no proposed special duties implemented on diesel fuel cars. With everything regarding the price deciding settled the automobile companies are now all set to introduce their new products on the domestic shores. Car makers like General Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen and Premier are now geared up to introduce their much anticipated products which will be for the entry level premium segment, the utility vehicle segment and the hatchback segment. Here are the five new cars that are speculated to launch in April 2012:-

Maruti Ertiga

Maruti Suzuki’s debut MUV,Maruti Ertiga will challenge the anticipated MUVs, the Nissan Evalia and the Chevrolet Enjoy, which are expected to be launched on the shores by mid of 2012 or by end of the year. Maruti is in no intention to stand behind the other auto-brands in the MPV segment; therefore it has slated the launch of MPV Ertiga on coming 12th April. Already, the stunning looks and well mated interiors have been seen at the Auto Expo Delhi 2012, but its price is still a mystery.

New Maruti Ritz

The premium hatchback Maruti Ritz has not seen any face lift since its initial launch in 2009. While it has been in news as its upgraded version was spied testing many times around its facilities in Delhi. There are amends made on the grille, front hood and newly shaped bumpers. With the 2012 Ritz, the company is planning to slip in an Automatic Transmission (AT) variant in the Ritz array to compete with recently launched ‘Hyundai i-Gen i20’, while there won’t be any changes in the engine department.

New Chevrolet Captiva

The desperately awaited and much needed update was provided to the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva that caught everyone’s attention at the Delhi Expo during its showcasing. General Motors has crafted it a new macho look and stylish sunroof teamed up with some hi-tech features like cruise control and electric parking brakes inside. However, the major highlight of New Captiva will be 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine that is mated to 6-speed Automatic Transmission (AT) mechanism.

New Volkswagen Jetta

Leading the full size sedan segment with diesel engine variants, Volkswagen Jetta is soon going to come powered by a 1.4 litre TSI petrol engine. In comparison to rivals like Skoda Laura, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis, this 1.4 liter power-train is speculated to be more calibrating and more efficient. Decent sales figures of Toyota Corolla Altis Petrol and Renault Fluence Petrol have tempted the auto-giant to introduce the petrol variant of Jetta.

New Premier Rio

Premier Rio, country’s first compact crossover will be available for the BS III cities across the nation within this month. As of now, the Rio has no rivals, but soon compact crossovers like Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster would be introduced on the domestic shores. The best part about the upcoming Rio will be its low pricing. It is expected that its base model would be available under 5 lakh rupees and its top end variant would be available at Rs 6.5 lakh. Availability of Rio at the price of a hatchback can prove to be its major advantage over other anticipated compact utility vehicles.
