Samsung Jitterbug SPH-A110 Review
Just as the name suggests, this phone is made for the growing senior population that requires a mobile telephone. The Samsung Jitterbug SPH-A110, while targeted towards the senior population is made for anyone that would like the simplest user interface and features that can accommodate hearing difficulties or vision difficulties. I purchased this phone for my grandma and she seems to love it.
Some of the features that are easily seen in this clamshell style phone are the padded ear cup which makes it easy to hear the other person in noisy situations, dial tone and a simple yes or no interface. There are two versions of the SPH, the A110 and A120. The A110 has three quick dial keys instead of a regular keypad. For instance, the three quick dial keys are operator, TOW and 911. This is a good feature in the case of an emergency. It should be noted that even though it doesn’t have a normal keypad, you can still make calls to any number using the phone.
The Jitterbug also comes with a volume and ringer control that is very easy to use. My grandma didn’t need that much time to get the hang of the phone and she has no problems making calls, since she calls me everyday.
Pros
-A great phone for seniors, the A110 with the three quick dial keys can be viewed as more of a security alert device than a phone per se, but both models are easy to use
-Good features for hearing and visually impaired
-Very easy to use interface
-Ringer and volume control is easy to set and adjust
-Affordable phone for the elderly
Cons
-No problems with the phone at this time.
Overall
If you are looking for a phone for an elderly individual, you should definitely look into the Samsung Jitterbug.
An Electronic Serial Number is a code created to identify mobile devices. An ESN is 32 bits long, and the distribution of information in those bits has changed as the standard has evolved.
