GROOMS’ CAKES
Well, back in the day…the groom’s cake was a Southern tradition used to incorporate chocolate or fruit flavors into the wedding cake table. Groom’s cakes can reflect a hobby, sports, or special interest of the groom. We’ve done everything from 3-D Mallard ducks to Budweiser beer cans, not to mention a myriad of Jayhawks, Tigers,
One popular and practical use for the groom’s cake is as dessert for the rehearsal dinner. Grooms cakes can also be used to complete the number of servings needed if the wedding cake design doesn’t serve the total number of guests anticipated. Another popular choice is to make the groom’s cake a small cake that the bride and groom take with them for a private celebration.
Normally, wedding planners advise “If it’s important to the bride, then it’s important.” Finally, the rare answer…”If it’s important to the groom, then it’s important.”
