Web Design: Concentrate On A Great User Experience

Managing user experience is probably one of the most important aspects of a web design. This means that however awesome your web design is, if it is of no use to a customer who visits your site, it is of no use at all. After all your web design efforts are all directed towards attracting and maintaining visitors right? Web design with a perfect balance of creativity and the ease in using creative features works better than a wildly imaginative website. Imagination is good. But do not ignore the other aspects of a web design while including creativity.

While providing users a great user experience, you need to concentrate on each and every element of your web design. A persuasive design is good. It will attract a lot of attention, but what after that? Once the user lands on your website there should be no “reason” to quit. Make the user experience so appealing that customers get what they want – well, and you get a conversion! This means that you should create a persuasive design and use it with good intentions – to influence a visitor’s mind, and motivate them to act. Once that’s done, here comes the final step – to make the “act” easy! This is what managing user experience is all about.

Getting users to understand and navigate your site easily, web design should be clear and concentrate on what the user requires. Remember not to be a pushy sales person. Give the user enough space to look at and read and navigate your website. You only get a conversion when the user “wants” to by and is not pushed into buying! You can persuade, you can make things easy nut you cannot make him buy unless he feels that his experience with your website was exceptional. So, concentrating on a great user experience is what a web design expert should do.

It’s important to check and test user experience too. After designing a website, you are ofcourse proud of your creation. But does a user know how to use and navigate or locate information on your website? It’s simple actually get your website tested for user experience with a variety of users. Get feedback. Work on modifications as per feedback. It’s very disheartening to modify an awesome web design, but remember the design is not for you, it’s for the end user. So, give him what he wants.

Web design with a great user experience always is more successful than an awesome graphical website with little for user to understand. So, when you design remember some very common principles. Design with clarity, design with users in mind and design for users not for yourself. Don’t sell like a pushy sales person. And give your website a clarity that you will enjoy designing and users will enjoy working with. Because designs with a great user experience work better than designs that are created with a wild imagination – the choice remains with you ofcourse. Great user experience or persuasive design with cluttered creativity!
