Assisted living places have benefits for families and residents.
My parents work all day long and my mom sometimes needs to go out of the country. I used to take care of my grandpa, who lived with us. My grandpa has Alzheimer disease, and it’s hard to take care of him, he needs a lot of attention. My parents and I love him so much, that’s the principal reason why they work all day long. This year I started studying medicine, and I needed a lot of time to spend on my studies. My parents agreed with me, because they want me to do what I really like and what I deserve. But studying medicine means that I couldn’t take care of my grandpa anymore. We needed an easy, accessible and fast solution. But we also needed comfort, security and attention for my grandpa, luckily a neighbor told us that there was an assisted living place where elderly people receive all the necessary attention. Our neighbor has family living in an assisted living facility . Before making such an important decision we visited that assisted living and we found a lot of senior people happy and comfortable, we talked to them and they told us about the benefits of living in an assisted living home. They feel comfortable and they can socialize with people of their own age and that makes them feel good. After that nice visit we talked with my grandpa about the assisted living and he agreed. Now, my grandpa is living in an assisted living home for 3 months and he is very happy. He has made a lot of friends, and he told us that the nurses and everybody there makes him feel OK. He also told us, that he hasn’t had time to get bored and he didn’t stop talking about the food, he says it’s fantastic. As you can see, an assisted living home helps the family of the person who’s living there, giving more time for their lives, their projects, and giving to them peace of mind, that their relative is getting comfort and attention that they need as well. Both partiess are happy, and that’s the most important benefit.
