After our Chancellor produced his spineless pre-election budget I’d like you to picture yourself in Switzerland where the current exchange rate means your ski holiday will be 40% more expensive than it was this time last year.
Is skiing fun?…well this is how it works and you can decide for yourselves…
Firstly, you spend 2 months salary on lift passes and ski hire within 1 hour of your arrival…leaving you with 25p of your spending money for the remainder of the trip.
Following that, pop on the ski boots that weigh the same as anvils then walk like an inebriated deep sea diver with callipers on to the top of the slopes whereupon you clip planks of wood to said anvils and then point down the side of a snow covered mountain and let gravity propel you into the abyss with nothing more than an orange plastic fence between you and numerous tress with mattresses tied to them on one side and a 3000 meter drop to the foot of the Alps and certain death on the other side…marvellous!
Immense parallel turn fun if you’ve done it before…considered insane by those who haven’t!
The best part of a ski holiday is, of course, the après ski which Darling and his Cycloptic sidekick have made impossible to enjoy as their mismanagement of UK PLC means that 1 drink will cost you the same amount as selling one of your vital organs to the highest bidder…thank you Darling…!
One other observation of Ski resorts…there are tiles everywhere…restaurant floors, entrance foyers, toilets, showers, lifts, apartments, hotel rooms etc etc…the point being even in country’s which are cold and full of snow, tiles are considered beautiful, easy to clean, hygienic, safe and an sound investment in your property be it private or commercial.
So in these troubled times invest in your home or your commercial property…if it doesn’t move …tile it!
