Gomez hit Moustakas in the third inning of Cleveland’s 11-9, 10-inning win at Kansas City on Saturday, causing benches to clear for the second time. Gomez, Acta and Cleveland third baseman Jack Hannahan were ejected. Gomez and Acta were fined undisclosed amounts. Hannahan was fined $500. Gomez said he did not intentionally throw at Moustakas.
Hannahan felt the players were policing themselves.

In my opinion, this is a joke. Gomez shouldn’t have even been ejected from the game and the warnings shouldn’t have been made until after Cleveland had a chance to retaliate. Gomez hit Moustakas in the butt with an 84mph pitch. I guess you have to be the first team to hit an opposing batter.
