New Renault Fluence E4D variant launched at Rs 15.20 lakh
Renault India, a subsidiary of the France based leading car maker, has added an all new variant in the line-up of its popular premium sedan – Renault Fluence – in the country. The new Renault Fluence E4D diesel has been launched with a more powerful 1.5 litre DCi, K9K, motor.
New Renault Fluence E4D is priced at Rs 15.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It is to be noted that the company had launched the E4 variant in diesel variant a few months back, but the latest E4 diesel is offered with more power from the same engine.
Powered by a 1461 cc diesel engine, the new Renault E4 diesel delivers a peak power output of 110 PS in combination with a peak torque of 240 Nm. The company is claiming that this small boost in engine power figures will be driving a considerable difference in the performance of the car on the Indian roads. The powerful engine of the new Renault Fluence Diesel E4D is incorporated with the same 6-speed manual transmission as was available with the previous variant.
However, with an increase in the engine power, the mileage of the car is decreased to 20.4 km per litre as compared to the 21.8 km per liter of the earlier E4 model (both mileage certified by Automotive Research Association of India).
Besides a slight boost in the engine power, the Renault Fluence E4 will be carrying all features same as before that comprises of the likes of rain sensing wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels, dual zone automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps, parking sensors, ABS (Antilock Braking System), EBD and Brake assist, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ASR, Multiple airbags (dual front airbags and side-chest level front airbags).
The Renault Fluence sedan was launched in the Indian market as a first portfolio model of the company in the Indian market in June last year. The car is competing with the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis and Skoda Laura in the Indian auto market.
