Since 2005, Balqon Corporation has been working towards a developing heavy-duty trucks and drive systems that emit no emissions. Where others have considered this is an impossible goal, today it’s reality, thanks for Quick-Shift electric drive train technology developed by Balqon. The goal is to pioneer research and commercialize technologies that maximize energy efficiency while generating zero emissions.
POWERFUL YET RESPONSIBLE
With 16,000 heavy-duty diesel trucks operating daily in 47 sq. mile area leading to 40% pollution, was the incentive to create a sustainable transportation solution for the region. While others proposed and implemented incremental solutions, Balqon worked with customers, local communities and governmental agencies to create world’s first zero emission heavy duty truck. Today, Balqon continues its pioneering work in developing new battery and drive system technologies to provide zero emission solutions in the transportation and energy storage industries.
PROVEN PERFORMANCE

Electric Car Stocks Investor Alert; Google ( GOOG) adds Electric Car Charging Station Search to Google Maps
California to Invest in EV Charging Stations. One of the big obstacles for electric vehicles is charging stations: They are not as abundant as gas stations, and even where they are around, it still takes too long to charge batteries. California appears to be interested in addressing this problem, as the state government will be investing $100 million to build a network of charging stations across the state. The Los Angeles Times reports:The money will be used to construct at least 200 public fast-charging stations and install wiring for 10,000 plug-in units at 1,000 locations across the state. Illinois and 7-11 Partner for Fast EV Charging Stations. It’s not just California, Illinois is getting in on the electric vehicle movement, and has committed to putting $10 million into EV charging stations. 7-11 claims it will be able to charge cars within 30 minutes. Illinois is also offering a $4,000 rebate on electric vehicle purchases. The economist in me cringes at this idea, as these kinds of stimulus and rebates are best left to the market rather than to the political process where lobbying is more likely to trump economics and science. But the speculator in me knows these types of flawed policies can create opportunities for the speculator who gets in early and recognizes signs of a market topping.

Ford investing in electric vehicles
Detroit: Ford sees investing in a EcoBoost engines and electric vehicles as “more plain bets” than unenlightened healthy gas powertrains, that General Motors and Chrysler Group are putting into pickups this year. Refueling infrastructure is unaccompanied and a low trust of healthy gas creates it challenging to store or float by vehicle.
