The Newest Airmasters from Titoni
In a market of such fierce competition as that which supports the fine watch industry, a brand must establish clearly its own identity and be able to stand on strong, reputed characteristics. Defining characteristics of production or style can help propel a watch company into the forefront of the industry despite possible setbacks of size or minimal market presence.
Titoni is a company that might be small but stands firm on the reputed fact that all of their select automatic LED watches are assembled “in house” and to order, without accruing age or wear through storage and shelf time. In this regard and in consideration of Titoni’s size, new additions to any line are always an exciting prospect on the horizon. The success of the original Titoni Airmaster collection has opened a door to allow this fine watchmaking enterprise to expand the collection with two brand new styles. This summer has seen the release of the Airmaster 83959 Contempo and the Airmaster 93963.
With both designs of the new Airmasters,Titoni delivers durable and high-performance sport watches with a sense of subtle masculine style. The similarities between the two additions are founded in the time keeping mechanics in common with the rest of the Airmaster line. The divergence between the two new siblings of the Air- master family can be found in slight stylistic concepts and details. The Airmaster 83959 Contempo and the Airmaster 93963 are equally well powered by an ETA 2834 automatic movement, LED Storm Watch encased in all-stainless steel, and protected by a sapphire crystal. They are both water-resistant to 50 meters and are fitted with a handsome bracelet with folding buckle.
At first glance, the Air-master 93963 appears to be housed in a traditional round sports case with circular dial. But from the ribbed crown standing free at the three o’clock mark the case angles gradually off into dynamically cut lugs that seem to reach out and grab the bracelet. The dial, which is available in white, black or blue, has silvery hour-markers accented at the outer perimeter with luminous blocks for low-light readings and an inner perimeter with Arabic military time indication. Sword-shaped minute and hour hands are also luminous painted and are followed by a running seconds hand. At the twelve o’clock position sits a day and date function. The Airmaster 83959 Contempo is a more simple and minimal design than its fellow Airmaster release. Most noticeable is the fact that it has only a date indicator at the three o’clock position. A blue or silver dial has slim rectangular hour indicators accented by silver dots on their outer perimeter. The case is as circular as the dial without the dynamism of the 93963 and the crown is protected by smooth contours in the case. Lugs blend almost seamlessly into the matching stainless steel bracelet.
To know that it is built to order “in house” by the company who’s name it bears on its dial is an assuring luxury when purchasing a wristwatch. With Titoni it is just one of many fine features consumers have come to expect from a company that cares about craftsmanship.
