My view on job-hopping
With the development of economy, job-hopping is common in big cities at present. As we know, moving from job to job, or job-hopping, as it is called, is quite acceptable in the United States. But, job-hopping will be contrary to Chinese traditional ideas.
I think job-hopping is not an end in itself but something young workers do when they see no other choice. No good pay, no good expectation, no good opportunity to experience. What else can make them staying?
Why so many young people choose job-hopping? First, with the booming number of blogs on the internet, there are now more ways of knowing what other people earn, and this is fuelling job-hopping. Second, people work in order to make more money. If they have a chance to get a better paid job, they will certainly try to get this chance. Finally, if a person does only one job all his life, he will certainly be bored with it.
There is not doubt that job-hopping has its drawbacks as well as merits. Job-hopping also gives employers a chance to benefit from the new ideas and skills that different people bring to their jobs, even if such people are employed for only a short time. Job-hopping may offers some good chances. But, Young people may become erratic.
As far as I concerned, I am not in favor of job-hopping, as the saying goes “Jack of all trades, master of none”. I want to be professionally strong.
