When Life Has No Meaning
Do you sometimes worry that life has no meaning?
If so, maybe you need to take some time to seek your life purpose by looking within.
It’s when you truly comprehend your purpose here on Earth that your life becomes one of pleasure and bliss.
The problem most of us must face up to as we trek through life is that there are a multitude of individuals, thought processes, and events that push us in a variety of directions. Your parents probably pressed you to live a certain path, as did humanity in general. Whether or not this path was the one you actually yearned for within yourself might not have been something you truthfully considered.
Then one day, you wake up with a feeling of emptiness and uncover that life has no significance for you. You’re basically moving through the motions, living roughly zombie-like as you falter through each day.
Although there are a few individuals who seem born with their life purpose already at the forefront of their minds, you weren’t so blessed. You feel as though you were destined for something larger, but you just can’t seem to lock on to what it is you’re supposed to be doing with your life.
Let’s peer into some activities you may use to uncover your life mission and bring to a close your dreaded thoughts that tell you life has no meaning.
First, look seriously at the kinds of themes you’ve always been avid about. Have you forever found yourself pulled toward animals? Or maybe arts, crafts, music or poetry transport passion into your essence. What about education, teaching, business, etc? Commence crafting an inventory of whatever makes you feel magical within.
Secondly, list all the activities you like to do. Rather than general subject areas, now begin focusing on the physical activities you like, such as painting, writing, playing a certain sport, boating, racing, singing, cooking, reading, gardening, etc.
Thirdly, pull from within all that stuff you’re inherently good at. What talents and skills have you been good at all your life? What always comes easy to you? Also, you might have developed certain skills because you’ve gathered experience in them over the years.
Lastly, begin to list out everything that is important to you. This time, you need to focus more on issues that impact the world in general, rather than only thinking on a personal level. What’s important to you as it pertains to things such as worldly causes, events, situations, people, animals, groups, etc?
When you start to work on these things, you’ll uncover that you’ll stop thinking life has no meaning. Look for patterns between your four lists. Look for connections. What keeps coming up? Although this is merely the preliminary step toward identifying your life mission, you should begin to realize a feeling of hope.
As you pass through all the way through life, your inherent gifts have been given to you to assist you as you plot a course toward your goal, which are the things that are most important to you. Because you have zeal regarding the things you love to do and the things that are most appreciated by you, you’ll have a profusion of energy to keep on going.
Life has no meaning when you haven’t given yourself to that which is most significant and passionate to you in a way that brings tangible benefits to the persons around you. You’ll be able to help the world once you understand how to work through the activities you love to do, which use your inherent talents in the process.
