What business bachelors actually do

As a professional more on the humanistic side of the life and working mostly with people who are passionate about their job I´ve always wondered what the people who have studied in the business schools actually do in their work life. My image is somewhat vague about the working life of the bachelors of business administration, since I feel that many of the people I have known to pursue this career took it as an option while there wasn´t any better on offer nor any passion for any certain field which would led them to be professionals. Business school also seems to be an option of comfort and ease; the salaries are good and the job prospects promising while for example going into an arts school is basically an economic self-destruction at least for the time of the studies, and many times for the rest of one´s life.

So I found out and learned that people who have taken for example the bachelors of business administration degree work for accounting firms, in the finance departments of companies, in the banks and so on. Their position can be named in various ways and they can be named as for example controllers, accountants and financial managers. Actually they were those people I meet behind the bank desks and accounting firms. They do for example accounting, budgeting, financial statements and taxation. They handle financial information, which is nowadays mostly done in electronic financial management (in Finnish=sähköinen taloushallinto) systems and softwares. They produce as well information for the companies about their financial state and help management to prepare the financial decisions. They do work with numbers and currencies, and probably many of them feel passionate about money.
