In the toatal number of bookings that Maruti garnered for new Swift, around 80% of the bookings belonged to the diesel version of the car. The labour unrest at the Manesar plant at the Maruti’s plant caused a huge production loss to the company and hence it also resulted in a huge waiting period for the hatchback, specially the diesel version.
