Mahindra XUV 500 secures top position in the Extreme category of Dakshin Dare 2012 Rally
<p>Mahindra XUV 500 got extraordinary response during its first and second phase of bookings. During the second phase of bookings, it received outstanding booking response of over 25,000 applications. At the recently held Dakshin Dare 2012 Rally, the XUV 500 crossover became the first diesel SUV to bag the top two slots in the Extreme category. Furthermore, Mahindra Scorpio was also entitled with the top two rankings in the Endurance category of the five day rally which was recently organized in Bangalore. Added to this, the ultimate Mahindra off-roader, the Thar also bagged the top slot in the Corporate category.</p>
<p>Mahindra & Mahindra showcased the dominance of its three products, i.e. the <a href=”http://www.mahindraxuv500india.com” title=”Mahindra XUV 500″>Mahindra XUV 500</a>, the Scorpio and the Thar through the Team Mahindra Adventure participation in the rally attributes. The Mahidnra XUV 500 attained the top two spots in the Ultimate Extreme category due to great efforts by national champion drivers Gaurav Gill with co-driver Musa Sheriff and Lohitt Urs with co-driver Chipong Chiwan. On the other hand, Sanjay Takale with co-driver Musthafa and Karthick Maurthi with co-driver Sankar Anand enabled the Mahindra Scorpio to grab the first two slots in the Endurance category. Besides this, K.S. Venkatesh with co-driver Chandra Sekaran enabled the Mahindra Thar to bag the top position in the Corporate category.</p>
<p>Expressing the remarkable dominance in the rallies by Mahindra off-roaders, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Senior Vice-President, Marketing, Automotive Division, Mr. Vivek Nayer commented that the credit goes to the best in class SUV range which Mahindra & Mahindra posses. He also mentioned that the company has created a history by securing the top spots in the three esteem categories of the Southern India rally.</p>
<p>The five day rally which started on 9th April this year got charged up with 100 four wheelers and 220 participants. The rally covered area of more than 2000 kms of three states that inclues; Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Back in 2011, it was Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara that won this rally. Maruti’s iconic crossover, the Gypsy was amongst the 100 four wheelers that participated in the competition. </p>
<p>Mahindra & Mahindra, the utility & passenger car maker has been doing extremely well in terms of sales with its available best in class products on the domestic region. Mahindra’s portfolio includes fabulous cars like the Verito, the Mini Xylo, the Bolero, the Thar, the Scorpio and the XUV 500. Within this year, the company is eyeing to launch the compact avatar of MUV Xylo. </p>
