Sexsomnia and Other Parasomnias

Not all sleep problems lead to having a tough time going to sleep. One group of sleep problems, referred to as parasomnias, involves abnormal behavior, actions, or emotions set off whilst sleeping .These dysfunctions include sleep paralysis, night terrors, sleep walking, and sexsomnia or sleep sex. A number of people feel learning how to sleep with your eyes open may be much better than being forced to experience the consequences of these distressing sleep problems.

Sleep Paralysis

Sleep paralysis happens when your mind is aware as your body begins shutting down to get to sleep, or if your mind awakens well before your body does. This disconnection between your mind and body makes you unable to move, hence the disorder’s name. While being unable to move no matter how much you try is alarming enough, people affected by sleep paralysis regularly experience horrific hallucinations. Several scientists and physicians feel these hallucinations are the reasons there are people saying they were abducted by aliens or were haunted by ghosts during sleep.

Night Terrors

Don’t be embarrassed to approach a physician or a psychiatrist should you start showing warning signs of parasomnia. It is usually safer to have an expert diagnose and treat you early so that you won’t do any harm to yourself or other people while you sleep at night.
