Xavier Thoma Enjoys Trying Out New Cuisine
Xavier Thoma enjoys traveling to new places and discovering new sceneries, cultures and smells. Recently, he has visited Cuba, Namibia, Brazil, Latvia, China, Zambia, Mozambique, Northern California and South Africa, and he hopes to organize a trip to India. He is an adventure lover who enjoys downhill skiing. He is passionate about classic sailboats, windsurfing and kite-surfing. He lives in London and takes full advantage of cultural offerings of the city, such as theatre, films, concerts and museum visits. He also enjoys cooking nutritious dishes for family and friends, and likes to try out new cuisine.
A knowledgeable and experienced professional, Xavier Thoma established Globefin European Advisors Ltd. in 2003 and worked as its Chief Executive Officer and Director. He was an Investment Advisor to a reputed private investment group whereby he co-headed portfolio allocation and headed the funds’ research committee. He designed, coordinated and executed research and investment selection process. Moreover, he validated investments, developed optimized portfolios, maintained relationships with investors in France, Switzerland, Portugal, Luxembourg and Spain. He was also responsible for supervising the marketing and client relations to raise funds for new investment mandates. He negotiated and liaised with major service providers. In 2011, he extended his investment target to pursue opportunities in real-estate sector to acquire and develop properties.
Xavier Thoma has also worked with JP Morgan & Co. Ltd. (from 1996 to 2000), and Morgan Stanley & Co. Ltd. (From 2000 to 2003). He attended prominent institutions to complete his education. He commenced his primary schooling from Charlotte Country Day School in 1990, and attended American School of Paris for the completion of his secondary education. He received International Baccalaureate- a global high-school certification which is widely recognized in many countries including the UK. Xavier also attended an additional Theory of Knowledge course in Philosophy, and took part in pan-European Maths competition in Sweden. Thereafter, Xavier Thoma obtained his Masters of Engineering degree from Oxford University, and interned during summers at Catimini- French manufacturer of children’s clothes, and Citibank in its credit advisory ratings group.
