Ultra Luxury Sportfishing Charters Attract Fort Lauderdale Anglers
Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters has added a new class of ultra luxury sport fishing boats to it’s fishing charter fleet. The company expects these boats will be popular among the company’s corporate clients, particularly among hotel concierges and event planners. The boats also give the opportunity for anglers to spend the day on a level of boat that would otherwise be reserved only for those who had the means to purchase one.
“We are getting more and more requests for these types of boats,” says Steven Seigel, co-founder of Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters. “Unless you know someone, it is very tough to find these boats for charter. They are typically privately owned by wealthy individuals who don’t need the money.”
“Although our fleet of sport fishing boats for deep sea fishing charters is more than adequate, there are times when people are looking to impress a client or a friend or a family member. These clients are looking for ‘bling’, they’re looking for a boat that shows they mean business!”
“Luxurious accommodations are typically not a priority for your ordinary charter fishing boat. Most of the fishing boats in Fort Lauderdale are mid size 40-45 foot fishing boats built in the 1970s and 1980s by Hatteras,” says Mr. Seigel. “The fishing layout on these boats is superb, and the boats do great in the ocean, but they’re sort of ‘no frills.’ The interiors are dated, you’re probably not going to find any leather.”
“By contrast, our ultra luxury sportfishing boats are going to be recent builds from high end manufacturers, such as Viking or Merritt and newer, larger boats from production manufacturers like Hatteras and Bertram. These boats are privately owned by wealthy individuals, many of whom have put a lot of thought, and money, into outfitting them.”
For example, Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters is offering a 65 foot Viking Platinum edition sportfish for charter. The boat features luxury accommodations inside and out. Huge seating areas on the flybridge as well as inside. The boat features a high end galley (kitchen) with modern appliances, as well as state of the art electronics and entertainment systems.
“The price for this level of luxury is more than you’d imagine,” says Mr. Siegel, “but, if you have to ask what the price is you probably can’t afford it.”
Mr. Siegel went on to say that the daily rate for the boat is $3,800 and includes a captain, mate, fishing tackle, and fuel for up to 20 miles of cruising. The boat can accommodate six guests and there is no additional per person fee. Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters also offers custom catering options that range from simple sandwiches all the way up to stone crabs and sushi.
Mr. Siegel declined to comment on the purchase price of the vessel, but indicated that a boat such as this costs millions of dollars.
The company plans to add more ultra luxury sport fishing boats to it’s fleet in the near future to help match discriminating customers with a fishing boat that’s a perfect fit.
