Will the Latest AIDS Scare Change the Porn Industry?
Every industry has hazards. Footballs players get concusions, miners get trapped hundreds of feet below the surface and porn stars get AIDS. We shouldn’t be surprised when things like this happen and we shouldn’t go off the deep-end. These are people paid a very good wage for what they do and know the risks going in. Should things be made as safe as possible? Well of course. To do otherwise is gross neglect.
But should we go so far as to turn the NFL into flag football and resort to candle light? Worse, turn the multi-billion dollar porn industry into a bunch of dry humpers?
Porns biggest name, Jenna Jameson, has spoken out and feels that girls are forced into having sex without condoms or else not get hired. Of course Ms. Jameson would know better than anyone the ins-and-outs of the porn industry. But are these girls forced into condomless sex?
From what I have experienced online, there are thousands of women in the porn industry and not one of them has been forced to do so. If the choice is sex without a condom or simply stripping at a gentlemen’s club, then it is still that woman’s individual choice to do perform sex without a condom.
It is understandable that Ms. Jameson would side with the female performers, but logically, these women are not forced to perform sex without condoms. They choose to do so. They could strip, they could get a job at Kroger, they could do thousands of other professions, each with their own hazards.
Large companies like Vivid and Hustler has momentarily shut down production, but once this latest AIDS story drifts away it will be back to business as usual and the industry will still provide the condomless sex that its consumers demand and women like Memphis Monroe and Eve Laurence will still get in the sack.
Memphis Monroe and Eve Laurence are examples of porn stars currently in the industry.
