The debate on the extracting bear bile
In the latest animal welfare row, traditional medicine lobbyists and anti-cruelty campaigners have been debating on the extracting bear bile. This debate becomes more and more bitter. A Weibo posting about this event was forwarded 38,089 times and as many as 7,710 people commented on it.
After reading some paper about this event I feel sad for the bear. the bears are commonly kept in little cages, that measure around 2.6 feet x 4.4 feet x 6.5 feet (79 cm x 130 cm x 200 cm) for an animal that weighs between 50 to 120 kg, feeding bear like this absolutely a Cruel abuse to them Let alone extracting bile!
Almost everyone knows treating animal like that was cruel and selfishness, but that isn’t easy to stop it. Because there have a big market named Bile trade…
But we can also see the hope of stopping this terrible behavior. Since 2011, when campaigners brought the methods used to draw bear bile for Chinese medicine to public attention, condemnation of the industry has been fierce. “NO BUY, NO KILL.” is more and more cause people’s agreement. I believe the extracting bear bile will finally be stopped. We can find a new and better way for living with animal.
