McDermott will take strict decision on financial crime
The Financial Services Authority that is FDA may get divided into two different agencies. Tracey McDermott, who is working as an acting director of enforcement and finance crime at the same agency wants London to know that this division will mean strict and tough decision would be taken at the Financial Conduct Authority.
She was of the view that she will make efforts so that she can crack down the management at the senior level, will get the details published as well as will try to maintain the behavior of the city. She became the part of FSA in the year 2001. From that point of time only she has always been on top most positions only.
At the time of her joining, she always wanted to stick to be working with the people at the main frame. She said that she always wanted to be a part of litigation and used to love investigation. As far as private practice is concerned, litigation meant that whoever came to you, you fought his or her case, which was at that facing quite a big loss. At most of the times, a case came to you when the condition of the case was already quite bad. She said she was always on a look out that she should get such kind of a work where she could work on a regular basis and should also work hard. She wished that a case should come to her at an early age so that she can shape it up in a proper way.
She also added that creating an image in the market is not the only important thing. What is important is to work hard for the society. The people know by the kind of work you do for them. Whenever we start doing any investigation, we ask our own self what has that person done wrong against which we are fighting the case. And also what message will we be giving to the public after taking up this case. She added further that sometimes a case is taken up because of the bad behavior of the very person or even to save the consumers or the market. Or sometimes cases are taken up because the people on there are behaving in a bad manner in the market. Giving out the right message is extremely important.
