Launch of facelifts in the Indian car market has become prevalent; here we are going to talk about the most successful facelift launches in India in the recent times.
Last year Hyundai launched the new Verna with fluidic design, the car has been bestowed with a flexuose design. Available in both petrol and diesel variants, Hyundai Verna is one of the finest options in the C segment sedans. The sedan is also offered with automatic transmission, the petrol trim levels are powered with engine options like 1.4 VTVT petrol mill and 1.6 VTVT petrol engine. The diesel trims are equipped with a 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine and 1.6 litre CRDi diesel engine. The price of Verna sedan begins from Rs 7.11 lakh for the base model of petrol version and goes up to Rs 11.26 lakh for the top end version of diesel variant. The petrol version of the sedan offers a mileage ranging between 11.8 kmpl 9.5 kmpl in city to 17.1 kmpl on highway. While the diesel version returns minimum mileage of 14.2 kmpl in city and maximum fuel economy of 22.3 kmpl on highway across models in diesel version.
Next on the list is the new Maruti Swift Dzire, the notchback has a trimmed boot and the total length of the car is less than four meters. Maruti Swift Dzire price has been tagged at Rs 4.88 lakh for the base model of petrol version while the high end version of Maruti Swift Dzire diesel is priced at Rs 7.34 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom price). Maruti Swift Dzire is also offered in automatic transmission on the VXi petrol version. The petrol is powered with a 1197cc engine that returns 15.1 kmpl in city and 19.1 kmpl on highway. The diesel variant on the other hand has a 1248cc diesel engine that runs 19.3 kmpl in city and 23.45 kmpl on highway. Maruti Swift Dzire is selling in good numbers, around 15,000 units of Dzire sedan is selling every month.
Honda also launched the new version of Honda City sedan in India last year in the month of December. The sedan has received a soft cosmetic touch up and a new feature that gives it a luxury feel. The price has been reduced to Rs 7.20 lakh for the base model and the high end model has been priced at Rs 10.43 lakh. The sedan is offered only in petrol version, which is a drawback for the saloon, Honda City diesel is in pipeline and could be launched in 2013. These are some of the best facelifts launched in the domestic market, though there are others too but these are the best facelifts in the sedan segment.
