Call of Duty Black Ops II a new line in the Call of Duty franchise
The Ninth game in the franchise of the “Call of Duty”, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is upcoming on November 13, 2012. This first-person shooter video game which is
developed by Treyarch and published by Activision is available for Microsoft, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms. One of the most interesting feature of the game is that,
this is first of its kind in the Call of Duty which is in a futuristic setting, featuring the warfare technology of the future. Apart from that the Call of Duty Black Ops II also consists of a
branching storyline as well. This branching story also depends on the choice being made by the player character in the Call of Duty History.
In this game there are two connected storylines one in the settings of late 1970s and early 1980s and the other one in 2025. The game settings based on the late 1970s
and the early 1980s is during the United States Cold war including multiple sites in Central America and the invasion of Afghanistan by Soviet Union. On the other hand
the game setting based in the 2025 setting features a new cold war between China and the United States after the ban of export of rare earth element by China. This
also follows as cyberattack crippling the Chinese Stock Exchange which continues on the future events.
In the section of the 2025 events the player character has access to the special Strike Force Missions. The most interesting part of this is that here is the option of
permanent death and resulting in such an end can directly affect the course of the campaign’s storyline.
This game is the first in the Line of the Call of Duty games to feature a branching storyline and the choice and the outcome of the player character can affect both
the mission at hand and also the overall course of the main storyline as well. At the end of the game the player is shown what could have happened in a different
outcome. The Call of Duty Black Ops II adds a lot
to the Call of Duty series of games with several new features. It is only a matter of time to experience the real taste of the game after its launch.
