The Exiled Realm of Arborea, or TERA, is a fantasy MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) developed by Bluehole Studio. Available in South Korea, Japan, America and Europe, tera online has caught the attention of avid gamers around the globe and has already claimed its spot as a gaming experience with immense potential.
About a millennia ago, two powerful warriors Arun and Shara, fell asleep and dreamt of a world known as Tera, inhabited by twelve godlike beings. A large number of less powerful mortals entered the frame as the dream progressed. These mortals were eventually forced into the divine wars of the gods, with disastrous consequences. The gods were defeated and the seven surviving mortal races must now join forces to resist a new enemy from the underworld whose goal is to wake the titans and destroy Tera.
As an MMORPG, Tera Online’s typical features include quests, crafting, and player-versus-player action. Combat uses a third-person real-time battle system, and a crosshair instead of auto-attacking. Players must actively dodge enemy attacks. There are seven races in the games: The ‘Amani’, the ‘Baraka’, the Castanics, the Elins, the High Elves, the Humans, and the animal-like Popori. There are further classifications into “damage-dealing” classes such as the Archer, the Berserker, the Slayer, and the Sorcerer. The “tanking” classes are the Warrior and the Lancer. The “support” classes are the Mystic and the Priest. There is also the Nexus System. The nexus is a randomly occuring event that anyone can join in to participate and earn precious as well as exclusive rewards.
TERA uses a currency called “Chronoscrolls” which allows game time to be purchased with real money and sold for in-game gold. This is a tactful strategy to fend off ‘gold farmers’.
The game offers players an enchanting opportunity to venture into a richly detailed game world with a pioneering dynamic combat system. Individual player actions can transform the balance of power in a world where old rivalries are erased, and disparate races must form a common federation to stave off destruction by marauding monsters and warring gods, and thus shape a new destiny.
