Alibaug is a coastal town in the Konkan region at about 110 km from Mumbai in the Raigud district of Maharashtra. Also the headquarters of the Raigud district, Alibaug has historical importance and is famous for its beaches. This coastal town of Alibaug was developed by the naval chief commander of King Shivaji’s regime, but is known as Alibaug because there was once a number of gardens and plantations owned by a rich Jew named Ali in Alibaug.

The best way to reach Alibaug is the ferry services provided from the Gateway of India, Mumbai which will take about 2 hours to reach Rewas, a place from where bus services are available to Alibaug. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation provides bus services to Alibaug from Mumbai. Private buses are also available to reach Alibaug. The nearest railway station is at Roha, 30 km away from Alibaug.
