First, you should make sure that the clients you are calling are actually interested in the product. If they aren’t then you will be wasting your time and will not be making any money. Second, you need to remember to be yourself. The more natural and easy to talk to you are, the better sales person you will be. By being yourself, you will build up trust with your client. Next, if you spend too much time worrying about what to say, you will be ignoring what the prospect is saying to you. If this happens you will be missing a lot of important information. The fourth mistake people make is not building up credibility. If you are too stubborn and only believe in your opinion then you will not make a good sales person. It is important that you listen to what other people have to say if you want to be trusted and successful. Next, if you have to leave a message, make sure it is well organized so you actually get a phone call back. Too many people leave long, boring messages that lead to no phone call back. Number six is that sales people are not improving their skills enough. This is why getting sales training when needed is very important. If they are not present at the first meeting they probably have someone else in mind.
