Top 5 Couponing Tips
Some people have the idea that couponing is a very easy task to do, however, it takes a lot of careful planning, organizing, and timing. You need to ensure you have the coupons(Target Coupons) closest to expiration ready to use so you don’t waste them, then other coupons can only be used on one particular day, and others are store-specific. So here are five tips to always remember when you are couponing:
You Can ONLY Use 1 Coupon Per Item
This is a very common misconception. You can’t use two coupons on the same product. For example, if you have 2 coupons for $0.50 off margarine, you can’t use both coupons on one tub of margarine because the cashier will not allow this.
Do NOT Photocopy Coupons
So many people have offered to photocopy a coupon ( Household Coupons) for me before, not knowing this is totally illegal. Copying coupons is one of the main reasons many brands cannot issue coupons because people copy/forge them to create counterfeit coupons.
You CAN Use a Coupon on Clearance Items
Unless it is clearly stated on the coupon, you should be allowed to use coupons on items that are on sale or in the clearance section of the store. Actually, this is how you save the most money! If you can find an item that is already reduced and use a coupon on it, sometimes you end up getting the item for FREE!
Watch the Cashier AND Read Your Receipt
Since you are taking the time to coupon, you really want to ensure you are saving as much money as possible on your purchases. So watch the cashier ring each item in to ensure the prices coming up are correct and also read over your receipt either at the store, in the parking lot, or when you get home to ensure the cashier registered all coupons correctly.
Don’t Fear the Cashier
Most cashiers absolutely HATE Target Coupons because they take longer to ring in than other customers and it creates more work for the cashier. So some cashiers will try and argue that you can’t use certain coupons, and if this happens don’t be afraid to ask for a manager to confirm that you can’t actually use the coupons.
