Sale of Delhi University (DU) admission forms closes today
Delhi University (DU) application process for admission ends today. Saleof online applications may remain open for another day.
Delhi University application process for admission to all of its under-graduate courses will end on Monday, leaving close to two lakh students competing for the 54,000 seats available with the university.
Until Saturday, nearly 1,20,000 students had registered for admissions online and offline in general and OBC categories. The figure is double the number of under-graduate seats available with the university.
“We expect more than 10,000 applicants to register for admissions on Monday, the last day of registrations,” said Dr J M Khurana, Dean of Students’ Welfare.
The applications sold by the university through its counters at post offices and colleges had crossed 1,30,000 by Saturday evening, with nearly 88,000 of these forms filled and submitted. An additional 32,000 had registered for admissions online.
The first du cut-off list 2012 will be released on June 26. Admissions will begin the same day, with a three-day admission window before the second list is released on June 29.
On Monday, university and college counters selling the pre-registration forms will close at1 pm; the sale at post offices will go on till4 pm.Online registrations and payment facility will close at5 pm, an official said.
This year saw pre-admission forms make a come back atDelhiUniversity. The university had scrapped the forms last academic season, in favour of walk-in admission for students meeting cut-off percentages of colleges.
While in 2010, nearly 1,80,000 OMR registration forms had been sold, this year the introduction of online registration led to a drop in the figure to 1,30,000.
